Angels & Demons Part 2 - The Angel

I guess there's always a balance between good and evil. So to counteract the demons that were running rampant through our house Sunday night, an angel stepped in.
Monkey came home from school and ate dinner, went to see the puppies down the street, and rode in his wagon to the lake to see the "wa". He played with all.of.his.toys in the tub and didn't run around too much when we were trying to put his diaper on afterwards. When it was getting close to bedtime I asked him if he was ready to go into his room to read a story. "And then nye nye?" he asked. He knew the drill.
We read three books and then gave Dada a hug and a kiss. I was hugging him next to the crib and telling him how much I loved him, etc. when he pointed down into the crib. **Note: Now, let me have you know that bedtime is never easy with Monkey . You have to unhook his legs from your waist and his arms from your neck to deposit him into the bed. Then he reaches out to you, crying, like you are leaving him to be eaten by monsters. Crying ensues until he falls asleep.** Unbelieving, I put him into the crib. He sat there for a second and asked for Elmo, who is propped on top of the crib. I gave him Elmo and he kissed him, lying down. I patted his back and told him goodnight. He sat up for a minute and handed me his blanket. I covered him up and patted his back again when he laid down. "Momma" he said. I told him goodnight, shut out the light, and closed the door. Not a peep from Monkey .
He slept until I woke him up this morning.
