We're Home!

Finally got home from our evacuation around lunch today. I am so tired!!! Packing and driving and unpacking and cleaning up wiped me out. And we are supposed to minimize sewerage because all the lift stations don't have power, so I can't go take a nice hot relaxing bath. Pooh!

I am pleasantly surprised at how well we all did during the evacuation. This was the first time I got to implement the plan I developed after Katrina. And this was also the first time we evacuated with Monkey . I think that only having to drive about an hour to evacuate helped, as well as the fact that we were at mom and dad's house with almost 3 acres of property. If we had driven six hours to Birmingham to stay in a hotel (our backup plan) I'm not confident it would have worked out as well!

Corey even evacuated with us, which is always up in the air. This is only the 2nd time he's ever left. We were with my mom and his parents for four days and even survived all those people together. And to come home to power, internet and no damage? Someone's looking out for us!

Thank you so much to all of you out there who wished us good luck and prayers. They worked!!
