Yeah, so Monkey can walk now!! He has improved so much over the last week; it is amazing. He was taking a couple of hesitant steps after you stood him up. Now he stands up on his own and almost runs! He likes to hold your hand and walk and has even led ME in the direction he wants to go. He'll even leave the room and walk down the hall on his own. Amazing! It is so nice not to have to carry him everywhere, but things do take a little longer. ;)

Corey had to work today for a project, so Monkey and I had the day together. I was wondering what I could do to keep him entertained all day. It kept threatening to rain but fortunately never did. So we were able to get out of the house. First we took a trip to the store to get the last part of Grammy's birthday gift. Monkey enjoyed hunting through the things I was considering (don't want to give anything away here!) and helped me choose between the final two. Later on we took a walk to the mailbox to get the mail. Then after a nap and lunch we went to the park. He had the best time looking at all the seagulls and ducks! He was pushing the envelope of his stroller's straps and pointing and yelling at the ducks. It was too cute! We even played on the playground for a little while. He slid down the slide (with help of course) and swung in the swing. He really liked watching all of the other kids playing and tried to go near them (they were quite a bit older so I tried to keep him separated). After a pop tart snack near the lake, we went home to rest. What a great afternoon.

Along with walking, Monkey has a larger vocabulary. Here are some of the most recent additions: all done, turtle, shoe, dog, outside.

I had Jonas most of the day by myself today because G had to work. I ask you: what do stay at home moms DO to entertain the kids all day, every day?
I have often wondered the same thing. I know that I am no where near as entertaining as the girls & other kids at day care!!! I am beat tonight. They must have some secret SAHM energy booster that they're not sharing with the rest of us!! ;)
