Peter Rabbit

When my brother and I were kids, the Easter Bunny brought us a Beatrix Potter figurine every year. My mom would keep them stored up until Easter, when we'd have the ceremony of pulling them all out to display during the Easter season. As we got older this tradition slowly ended, and the figurines ended up in storage somewhere in my parents' house.

Several years ago, during one of her clearing out and giving away sprees, my mom passed on the box of Beatrix Potter figurines to me. They then sat in my closet for a while until I became pregnant with Monkey and hoped for a Peter Rabbit themed room for him. Unfortunately I could not find "old style" Peter Rabbit themed bedding etc, so we went with the just as adorable Clover Fields. The Beatrix Potter figurines continued to sit in the closet.

Over the last few months the decorating bug has bitten me, and I've started working on the house again. (You'll recall Monkey 's curtain a while back.) So today I bought some white display shelves and put them up in his room.

The Beatrix Potter figurines now have a permanent home. And I think they coordinate very nicely with the pale blue and green, and bunnies and lambs of Clover Fields. Don't you?
