Gustav postponed our Labor Day trip to the beach, and we went last weekend. I couldn't say that I'd ever been to the beach in October, but now I can!
We had a wonderful time, though it was too short. Monkey behaved himself on the trip over, which made it a lot easier. It was our first time staying in a high rise condo, but it was beautiful. Our view of the beach was perfect, and if you scrunched down low enough on the couch, and looked out the window, you only saw the Gulf and felt like you were on a cruise boat.
Monkey was unsure of the water ("wa") at first, but once he held him and dipped his hands in, he really got a kick out of it. We even got him to stand in the surf and pick up shells. I was really glad he had beach shoes, since he wasn't keen on the sand in his toes. He REALLY loved the pool ("poowl") even though he only sat in his float once.
We ate at our traditional spots: Hemingway's and Crab's. The best moment was when Monkey was playing with an unopened creamer container at Hemingway's and it popped open. It sprayed creamer all over his face, the table, and the window we were sitting next to. We cracked up laughing, thankful that they had sat us away from the bulk of the other patrons.
Here are the pictures that I took. What a great weekend!
