Elmo Says Boo!

Halloween did not start off well. Monkey did NOT want to get dressed. He wouldn't wear his mask, so we put an Elmo shirt on over his costume so it looked like he was more than a red suit. Once we took a chill out walk down the street he was ready for it.
Two of our neighbors had special treats for Monkey . Ed (above) and Joyce gave him the cute pull string car with a skeleton on it that says "Happy Halloween" and gives a maniacal laugh.
Larry and Joanne (and Sadie!) gave Monkey a bag with a pumpkin cookie, M&M Mummy and stuffed Elmo. They were so excited it was his "first" Halloween too.
It took him a while to get the idea of it, and wouldn't knock on the doors even though he LOVES to knock on doors. In the end, he finally got the hang of it and ran up to the doors, knocking and taking his treats.

I wonder if he'll enjoy it again next year?

We haven't actually taken J trick-or-treating yet! His daycare has a session at the nursing home they are a part of so we go there, but haven't actually knocked on doors yet. What a brave boy Caleb was! It took J a while to get the hang of it, but then he was marching up to the nursing-home residents and holding up his bucket. Sometimes we could even get a "tank-oo" out of him, too.
